Last week in Fairfax, a 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with a stabbing that the Fairfax County Police Department are treating as a gang related incident. The man, Flores, is believed to be a resident of Chantilly, although it is not clear which gang he is being associated with. The report from the Fairfax Police Department indicates that the incident took place along the 14600 block of Pan Am Drive.
At around 11:30 last Thursday night, police responded to calls of a gang fight at the above location. When the Fairfax Police arrived at the scene, they found the location mostly deserted except for an individual on the ground who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim, who has not been named, was transported to a nearby hospital. His injuries during admittance were listed as being life-threatening. He managed to recover, and it is believed that the stab wounds are no longer as threatening as they were when he was first brought to the hospital. Although the police have gathered only a small amount of information about the stab victim, it is believed that his age is somewhere between 18 and 20-years-old.
After the initial call, the police began canvassing the area in search of those who may have perpetrated the incident. Although they were unable to find anyone during the initial search, they were able to narrow their search to focus on specific individuals. It was at this time that Flores was named as a possible participant in the stabbing.
Several days later, just after 1:30 on Monday morning, police pulled over a van on George Carter Way, close to where it intersects with Lee Road. Citing the reason for the traffic stop as the suspicious actions of the van's driver, the police quickly identified the driver of the van as the wanted Flores. The Fairfax Police arrested Flores and charged him on numerous accounts, including Abduction, gang participation, and malicious wounding.
The incident is still very much under investigation, with authorities trying to unravel exactly what led to the altercation in the first place.
