A heavily trafficked road within the city of Burke in Fairfax County was shut down for much of the day on Tuesday, September 11th, after a crash between several cars happened and made the area impassible. Reports from the Fairfax County Police Department suggest that the accident involved a motorcycle and a larger vehicle, although it is not clear if this second vehicle was an SUV, a car, a pickup truck, or something else. The two were traveling along the well-known and well-driven Fairfax County Parkway when the collision took place.
In the later days of August (on Tuesday, the 21st), police working with the Fairfax County Police department within the city of Lorton found themselves responding to reports of and incident along Peniwill Drive and Ox Road. It is not clear who called the officers to the location, but when they arrived they found that a car had struck a bicycle and its rider, and that the subsequent injuries inflicted upon the rider were severe.
It was close to 6:30 in the morning of Monday, July 2nd, when police working within Arlington received reports of an incident that had taken place inside of the city. According to these reports, an accident had occurred in an area of Columbia Pike that lies somewhere between South Frederick Street and South Dinwiddie Street. When police and other first responders (including paramedics and EMTs) arrived at the designated location, they found two vehicles were indeed involved in a collision.
On Friday, June 15th, a Woodbridge resident was riding on a motorcycle along a Fairfax County stretch of Interstate 66 when he was involved in a collision that caused him to suffer from fatal injuries. On Tuesday, June 12th, a man from Manassas was driving his motorcycle down Liberia Avenue when he approached the intersection of Liberia Avenue and Ivy Glen Court. According to an official report from the Manassas City Police, the incident took place close to 4:45 in the afternoon and involved, as well as the aforementioned motorcyclist, an individual driving a car.
On Friday, May 11th, a 25-year-old man from Manassas was riding a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650 down the western lane of Portsmouth Road. The man on his motorcycle was traveling at an unspecified rate of speed when, as he closed in on the intersection of Portsmouth Road and Deward Court, he lost control of the motorcycle.
A crash between a motorcycle and a car in Prince William County resulted in the death of at least one person on Wednesday, May 3rd. Official reports from the Prince William County Police Department indicate that the crash happened during the evening, and that it only involved two vehicles: a pickup truck and a motorcycle. Riding the motorcycle was a 34-year-old individual from Stafford.
A collision between a police cruiser with the Alexandria Police Department and a civilian vehicle resulted in the cruiser being shoved off of the road and into a building near the street early in April. The incident, which happened on Tuesday, April 3rd, resulted in the officer on duty in the cruiser being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. An official report filed by the Alexandria police department states that the crash is still under investigation while the authorities attempt to discover just what happened to cause the two cars to ram into one another with such force.

The report filed by the Alexandria Police Department indicated that the incident happened close to 7:45 in the morning, during the peak of rush hour. It is not clear exactly what transpired to cause the incident, but we know that it involved a motorcycle and two cars.
Crash reconstruction units at work in Fairfax County are in the process of investigating a crash that happened early on Friday morning. Reports from the scene are so far incomplete, although it does appear that only one vehicle was involved in the incident and that the single occupant of this vehicle was treated for injuries. It is not clear if this person was transported to a nearby hospital, but we do know that their injuries were deemed to be minor. This fact is rather extraordinary, given the violence of the accident.
