Crash in Springfield Results in Injuries, Massive Delays Along Beltway

A collision that took place early in the morning on Thursday along a stretch of the Beltway located in Springfield resulted in at least one person being injured and numerous delays. It is believed that at least two cars were involved and that both of them wound up flipping over as a result of the auto accident that happened sometime before 5:15 in the morning. 

Transformer Struck by Drunk Driver in Farmville, Massive Power Outages Follow

On the night of Monday, August 20th, a 28-year-old Burkeville resident was driving their 2014 Ford Fiesta down the southern lanes of Midtown Avenue in Farmville when they lost control of their vehicle and collided with a transformer. According to the official report from the Farmville Police Department, the drunk driver accident took place at close to 9:30 in the evening after the 28-year-old left an unspecified location after consuming what is believed to be an irresponsible amount of alcohol.

Two Injured on Beltway After Tractor Trailer Accident in Prince George's County

On Thursday August 23rd, drivers attempting to travel along the inner loop of the Beltway in Prince George's County experienced extreme delays after a severe collision between a box truck and a tractor trailer resulted in large amounts of debris spread across the roadway and numerous serious injuries. The facts relating to the incident are currently foggy, but it seems that the incident happened close to both Allentown Road and Interstate 95 and that it was located close to a site where ongoing construction had resulted in altered traffic flows.

Virginia Driver Behind Fatal I-95 Crash Given DUI

On Saturday, July 28th, police working for the Virginia State Police within the city of Springfield rushed to an area close to the Fairfax County Parkway in response to reports of a collision between several vehicles. The police were joined by emergency response crews from other departments such as EMTs and paramedics. It is not clear if the caller to the authorities was aware that there were injuries at the scene of the crash or not, but the presence of the emergency medical teams was sadly necessary.

Car Crashes into Inova Alexandria Hospital

Hospitals are where we go to recover from injuries sustained in things like car accidents. Usually, these are places far away from the actual source of the injury, and many of us see hospitals as locations where we are, for a moment, safe. For residents of Alexandria, this conception was challenged on August 11th when firefighters working within the city of Alexandria began receiving reports of a crash at the Inova Alexandria Hospital.

One Dead, Three Injured in Loudoun County Crash

Shortly after 11:00 in the evening, officers working within the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office began receiving reports of an incident along Route 7 that involved several vehicles. The report from the Loudoun County deputies indicates that they and numerous other emergency response crews rushed to the scene of the crash where they began to offer medical assistance to several of the people who suffered from injuries in the incident. Although many of the specific details relating to the crash are not publicly available, we do know that it involved at least two cars and that the crash resulted in at least one death and three hospitalizations.

Man Struck and Killed in Woodbridge after Road Rage Incident

Initial reports around the death of a 53-year-old man in Woodbridge were highly opaque. The most they did was provide the age of the victim, the time when the incident took place, and the location of the event that led to the person's death. Since that time, numerous additional facts around the fatal accident have emerged. They paint a distressing picture, although one that has been replicated numerous times over the course of the year (one that seems on its way to becoming increasingly common). In short, the authorities from the Prince William County Police Department indicated that the death of the 53-year-old was the result of road rage.

Glenkirk Estates Residents Demand Road Improvements after Fatal Crash

Residents around the Glenkirk Estates are demanding that officials within Prince William County do something about a highly dangerous intersection that has been the result of numerous auto accidents, including one on the 24th of July that resulted in the death of a 67-year-old.

Manassas Multi-Car Crash Caused by Hit-and-Run Driver

On August 2nd, a person ran a stop sign at the intersection of Sudley Road and Campus Drive in the Prince William County town of Manassas. Reports from the Prince William County Police Department indicate that it was close to 5:00 in the evening when the individual, who was driving a vehicle that was only described as being "silver" in the initial report, ran a stop sign and collided with at least one other car. Due to the time of day, numerous other vehicles were on the street at the same time and the crash between the first two cars resulted in several additional vehicles becoming involved in the fiasco.

One Dead, One Injured after Hit-and-Run on Woodrow Wilson Bridge

On Wednesday, August 1st, police working for the Maryland State Police Department responded to reports of an incident that happened along the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, a large structure that stretches across the Potomac River from Alexandria, Virginia, to Oxon Hill, Maryland. The auto accident on Wednesday happened in the northbound lanes of I-495 and involved a car that had pulled off of the road and onto the shoulder after it began experiencing issues on the roadway.

Chantilly Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested

Police working within the city of Chantilly became involved in a high-speed chase down Braddock Road as well as Riding Center Drive after a car allegedly struck at least one other car that was traveling in the same area. Official reports from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office indicate that the suspect, a 30-year-old from Marshall, was behind the wheel of an car that was not described in the initial reports when they began to drive down either Braddock Road or Riding Center Drive. At the same time, another vehicle was either driving through or parked in a nearby location.
