DWI Charges for Driver Arrested in Chantilly

Several weeks ago, on Friday, March 19th, officers with the Fairfax County Police Department began to pursue an individual after receiving reports of a driver behaving erratically around the location of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway and Majestic Lane in Chantilly. The concerned call came in around 8:30 in the evening, and the responding members of the Fairfax County Police Department arrived at the indicated area shortly afterwards.

Motorcyclist Dies after Crashing in Alexandria

Police with the Alexandria Police Department in Fairfax County are currently seeking any information that will help them in their investigation into the death of a 34-year-old Haymarket resident who died after crashing their motorcycle on King Street on the morning of Friday, March 30th. According to the initial report, the incident took place at close to 2:30 in the morning, on King Street's 4300 block, and only involved the one individual and their motorcycle.

Fairfax County Single Car Crash Leads to Death

An accident involving only one vehicle resulted in the death of one individual this past Saturday in Reston. The Fairfax County Police Department have issued a statement on the incident that outlines the most verifiable elements of the incident so far. Because the crash is still under investigation, it is too early to say whether or not there will be additional facts that are released at a later date.

Unhappy Uber Customer Causes Crash in Fairfax County

Uber, the popular ride-sharing app that has caused a controversial revolution in the ways we travel locally, has had its well-documented share of ups and downs over the past year-and-a-half. And, while the dismal employment and managerial practices of the company have been under close scrutiny, the fact is that people still work for Uber, people still hire Uber, and Uber drivers continue to be subject to some less-than delightful interactions.

Truck Driver Electrocuted in Fairfaxy County

Mystery shrouds the untimely death of a trucker who was electrocuted as he passed through Lorton last Thursday morning. The incident, which happened on March 15th, was discussed in a report from the Fairfax County Police Department, members of which were on the scene with other emergency personnel throughout Lorton and Fairfax County. 

Car Crashes into Utility Pole in Fairfax County, DUI Issued

A single-car crash that took place in the city of Dunn Loring early this past Wednesday resulted in an extremely dangerous situation after live electrical wires were scattered across the street. Police and firefighters from various units across Fairfax County responded to the accident and a report was issued shortly after the initial cleanup and investigation was completed. 

Elderly Man Avoids Head-On Collision with Train in Fairfax County

The conductor of an Amtrak train traveling through Fairfax County received a terrible shock this past Tuesday when they noticed that heading towards them on the railroad tracks was a white four-door Ford. According to the Fairfax County Police Department, the train was able to come to a stop before slamming into the car directly, and the driver of the car, and unnamed senior citizen, was able to get mostly out of the way. 

Tree Collapses on Car in Fairfax County During Wind Storm

Firefighters, paramedics, and police officers were some of the many members of various Fairfax County rescue crews to rush to the scene of an incident involving a car and a tree in Vienna on Friday, March 2nd. The official report from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says that a call came in at close to 9:30 in the morning that claimed a tree had fallen onto a car at the intersection of Maple Avenue East and Branch Road South East. When the rescue crews arrived at the scene of the incident, they found themselves needing to free an injured and trapped individual from a car that was lying crushed underneath a large tree. 

Police Chase in Fairfax County Ends after Man is Hit by Own Car

A police chase through Hybla Valley this past Sunday ended in an embarrassing way for the fleeing individual after their efforts to elude the authorities ended when their own car ran them over. Statements from the Fairfax County Police as well as dash-cam video taken from one of the officer's cruisers indicate that the entire interaction began after an on-duty officer attempted to make a routine traffic stop on a car that was driving erratically down the road.

Fairfax Co Police Search for Driver Responsible for Hit-and-Run

Police officers with the Fairfax Police Department are in the process of trying to identify and locate an individual who is believed to be behind hit-and-run crash that took place last weekend in the area of Falls Church known as Bailey's Crossroads. According to the initial police report, the incident involved a car and two pedestrians who were attempting to cross Columbia Pike. One of the pedestrians was a 12-year-old girl, the other was the girl's mother.

Car Fire in Springfield Results in Minor Injuries

Early this past Thursday morning, while drivers throughout Fairfax County were taking part in the early commute, a car driving through the Springfield area suddenly caught fire. Details regarding the reason behind the fire have yet to arrive, but the incident did result in a report from the Springfield Police Department, a report that helped explain to the thousands of motorists as to why traffic around the intersection of Interstate 95 and Interstate 495 was so terrible.

Crashes Close Part of Georgetown Pike in Fairfax Co

This past Tuesday, a large section of Georgetown Pike that crosses through Great Falls in Fairfax County was closed after a crash took place at the junction of Georgetown Pike and River Bend Road that downed at least one power line. Numerous homes throughout the area were rendered powerless after the crash, which happened close to 10:00 in the morning.
