Single Car Crash in Fairfax County Results in Motorists Death

| Jan 28, 2018 | Auto Accidents |

This past Saturday, officers working within the Springfield Police District responded to reports of a single-car crash along Alban Road’s 8400 block. While the statement published on the Fairfax County Police Department’s blog did not include a number of important details, it did give much of the necessary information regarding this particular circumstance.

The time of the crash was not specified on the blog, but we do know that the crash only involved one car and that it took place early in the morning. Adous, whose age and origin were not included in the report, was driving a 2014 Honda CR-V down the southbound lane of Alban Road when something took place either in the car or on the street to cause the man to lose control of the vehicle. It is not known whether or not there were witnesses to the incident, but the scene of the crash made it clear that Adous left the southern lanes, crossed over the double line into the northbound lanes, and then left the roadway all together.

Adous’ Honda then crashed through a densely wooded part of the road’s shoulder, charging through small trees and underbrush. The car eventually came to a final stop after colliding with a large tree.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and began to hack their way through the growth to reach the car. While it is not immediately clear if Adous was dead by the time the paramedics reached him, we do know that he was declared deceased at the scene of the incident.

At the time of this writing, the crash is still under investigation as members of the Crash Reconstruction Unit with the Fairfax County Police Department work to try and fully re-create the crash. It could have been the result of a poorly maintained roadway, or perhaps Adous was trying to avoid striking an animal when he swerved into the woods. Additionally, police will investigate whether or not Adous was traveling too fast or under the influence of any illicit substances at the time of the crash. More details will emerge as the investigation progresses.
