Blow Out Causes Single Car Crash in Fairfax County

This past Monday, Fairfax County Police as well as members of the Fairfax County Fire Rescue responded to reports of a single-car accident that occurred close to the Huntington Metro Station in Alexandria. The official report, relayed to the public through Fairfax County Police spokesperson, says that the incident occurred just after 7:00 in the morning, close to the intersection of North Kings Highway and Timothy Place, as people in Alexandria were making their way to work.

Collision on George Washington Parkway

A Sunday afternoon accident at the intersection of the George Washington Parkway and Belle Haven Road in Alexandria resulted in the hospitalization of at least one individual. According to Sgt. Dingeldein, a spokesperson for the U.S. Park Police, the incident took place just after 2:00 in the afternoon and involved a minivan and a truck used for commercial purposes. According to Dingledein, witnesses to the incident said that truck was traveling down the left-most southbound lane of GW Parkway when its driver attempted to make a turn from the parkway and onto Belle Haven Road. At the same time, the minivan, a Honda Odyssey, was traveling down the northbound lanes of the George Washington Parkway.

Fatal Crash on Alexandria Stretch of Interstate 495

An individual died on Thanksgiving morning close to Alexandria, Virginia, after an accident occurred on Interstate 495 between a car and a tractor trailer. According to the official report from the Virginia State Police, the accident took place just before 4:00 on Thursday morning, when traffic on the normally busy interstate was light and the sun had yet to rise above the horizon. Padilla, a 30-year-old from Alexandria, was behind the wheel of his car, traveling west on I-495, when he approached exit 173.

Arlington Woman Dies in Thanksgiving Day Crash

A second fatal crash occurred in Fairfax County on Thanksgiving morning. According to the report from the Fairfax County Police, Snyder, a 78-year-old Arlington resident was driving her 1989 Honda Civic eastbound on Interstate 66 when the accident occurred that resulted in her death. While the most current report still fails to provide us with all of the details, we do have enough to recreate many of the events as they happened.

Car Chase through Dunn Loring Results in DUI Charges

A quiet early morning in Dunn Loring was briefly shattered on Monday after a driver refused to pull over for a traffic stop, an act which resulted in the individual being pursued by numerous police vehicles. Details on the entirety of the incident are still incomplete, but enough has been released by officers with the Dunn Loring Police Department and the Fairfax County Police to reconstruct the main points of the incident.

Police Chase Ends with Arrest of Man in Reston

Just around 9:45 in the evening, a police officer with the Fairfax County Police noticed a vehicle being driven recklessly and at high speeds near the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway and Stringfellow Court inside of the town of Fairfax itself. The officer then attempted to perform a traffic stop on the individual behind the wheel of the car, but this person decided that they did not want to be engaged in a traffic stop and instead attempted to flee from the pursuing officer.

Man Arrested after Leading Officers on Chase through Annandale

A high-speed chase in and around Annandale on Saturday has resulted in the arrest of one man and a subsequent list of charges that reflect the danger this man posed to civilians and officers during the incident. It began around 5:00 in the evening when an officer saw a car speeding down Little River Turnpike, close to where this street intersects with Columbia Road. The officer also noticed that the car was driving erratically and recklessly as well as being over the posted limit. The officer attempted to perform a routine traffic stop on the vehicle, but the car's driver decided otherwise.

Intoxicated Driver Causes Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash along I-66

Early this past Sunday, a Manassas resident who was driving along Interstate 66 caused a deadly three-vehicle crash, after which he attempted to flee the scene of the incident and escape from the pursuing authorities. According to the Virginia State Police, the accident took place close to 4:00 in the morning, on Interstate 66's westbound lanes. The accident location was inside of Fairfax County, but also only 1,000 feet to the east of the line separating Fairfax County and Prince William County.

Vienna Drunk Driver Crashes into Pole, Arrested

On Wednesday, police in Vienna arrested a driver on a suspected DUI after a car crashed a utility pole just off of Maple Avenue East. The report from the Vienna Police Department indicates that the crash occurred close to 1:00 in the morning. The car has not been described in any detail and the driver of the vehicle has not been named, however a series of details relating to the incident have been released.
